QR Codes

What is a QR Code ?

A QR Code, or Quick Response code was originally invented in 1994 in Japan for the labelling of car parts and intended to keep track of the components as after they were manufactured and tracked through the warehousing and delivery network.

Today they are used for many purposes directed at smart phone users. A quick scan of the code using the smart phones in-built camera can take you to a marketing promotion website, a restaurants electronic menu and even to make payments. All uses widely outside of the scope of the inventors original intentions but be fitting of todays society and reliance upon mobile devices.
